Our menus
Our menus are bespoke and designed to fit your requirements, using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Your menu will be agreed on booking but may be subject to minor changes if ingredients cannot be sourced. We cater for dietary requirements, including vegan, gluten free and dairy free. We cannot however, take responsibility for any guests unless we have been informed prior to the event and detailed on the booking form.
Payment
A 10% non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your booking, based on the original estimate. Full payment is required no later than 14 days prior to the day of the event. Full payment is required, less deposit. Payment can be made by bank transfer. Cash will only be accepted with the prior agreement. Jay Geddes reserves the right to charge the customer for any breakages/damages to tableware, cutlery and any other equipment hired for the event.
Booking
Provisionally booked dates will be held for 7 days and will only be confirmed once the booking form has been signed and the deposit paid.
The client must confirm final guest numbers for the event no later than 14 days before the Event, as well as confirming any special dietary requirements. For events booked at short notice, the client will be invoiced for the full payment, which will be due within 7 days.
Cancellation
In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your event, we will need your cancellation to be confirmed in writing and your deposit will be retained. We will accept cancellations made before the two weeks prior to the event date. Events cancelled after this date will be subject to the following charges:
1-6 days before the event: 90% of estimated final invoice
7-14 days before the event: 50% of estimated final invoice
The client acknowledges and understands that Jay Geddes will purchase food and other consumables, hire equipment and staff in preparation of the Event, and a cancellation or a reduction in the numbers of guests will result in the charges detailed above to cover these costs.
Jay Geddes will not be liable for any damages/circumstances beyond reasonable control including but not limited to, strikes, fire, flood, or accident. In the event of such an event occurring Jay Geddes shall be entitled to cancel the Event with immediate notice to the client and shall reimburse the client all charges paid as at the date of cancellation less such reasonable preparation and administration costs and any non-refundable deposit.
Venue
Jay Geddes requires access to the venue for setting up equipment and services, ideally the day before the Event if not in good time on the day of the Event. Jay Geddes will require constant access to and exit from the venue whilst providing the catering services employed to do. The client must ensure that Jay Geddes can enter and leave the venue without restriction.
Whilst at the venue, the Jay Geddes team will need access to a sink with hot and cold water supply and access to clean certified drinking water, with access to appropriate cooking and preparation facilities and uninterrupted power supply. The Jay Geddes team will have use of a parking space and/or parking permit as well access to toilet facilities.
Quality Assurance
Under the Government Food Hygiene regulations all cold food should be consumed within FOUR hours of delivery. Hot food should be consumed within 2 hours, thereafter it is your responsibility when food which is left unsupervised by the consent of the client is NOT covered under our Public Liability Insurance.
Where the client chooses to supply items of food and/or drink for the Event, Jay Geddes reserves the right to dispose of or not to serve any such item if, in its sole discretion, such item is unfit for human consumption and/or displays signs of contamination or deterioration and/or cannot be demonstrated to have been stored in accordance with statutory and/or regulatory requirements prior to delivery to the Supplier at the Event.
All excess food will be removed and disposed of by Jay Geddes in accordance with statutory food hygiene requirements, except where food or drink has been supplied by the client, in which event the client will be responsible for removing excess food or drink and empty bottles unless otherwise agreed by us.
We will provide catering services with great care and skill and in accordance with food catering industry standards for hygiene and general cleanliness. The preparation and cooking of food and the handling and service of food, beverages, utensils and tableware. In compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements affecting the preparation, cooking, handling and service of food.
Data Protection
We will process any personal data collected from the client for the purposes of administering the booking for the Event. We will share your details with any third parties.
Future changes to the Terms and Conditions
Jay Geddes reserves the right to change the terms and conditions when necessary. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they have kept up to date with the terms and conditions.
